Colourful Calendar Card Set

This resource is a rainbow sequenced set of cards to represent the date, in the standard UK format (Day, Date Number, Month, Year). 

There are an additional two colours to distinguish the day further, into types of day and segment of the day.  We decided to incorporate the standard ROYGBV rainbow sequence to strengthen children’s understanding and use of date formatting, as it can help narrow down their choices about what comes next, i.e. “Orange is next so I need a number”.  Here are how the colours have been labelled:

·         Red                 =          Days of the Week, Monday to Sunday

·         Orange            =          Date Number of the Month, 1-31

·         Yellow             =          Month of the Year

·         Green              =          Year

·         Blue                 =          Type of Day

·         Purple              =          Segment of the Day
