Memories Connect Us

Our need for connection with others remains even when we cannot physically be with our chosen people, whether this is due to temporary separations (i.e. co-parenting children across different households, pandemic restrictions, holidays, military deployment or illness) or permanent loss due to a bereavement or a piece of work coming to an end.

Storytelling and letter writing, sharing memories and hopes are important, beautiful tools that can help us to navigate those difficult times.  Obviously, this can take a different focus when there is a permanent loss of relationship. Nevertheless, collecting and recording the stories, thoughts and feelings that have mattered between people who have cared about each other can maintain feelings of connection and promote emotional well-being for each person involved.
